Postdoc Appreciation Luncheon and Award Ceremony 2016

In celebration of the Postdoc Appreciation Month and recognition of postdocs as vital members of the our research community, the UC San Diego Office of Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholar Affairs (OPVSA) invites UC San Diego postdocs to the Annual Postdoc Appreciation Luncheon.

This luncheon will follow the Postdoc Research Symposium organized by the Postdoctoral Association and also have the awards ceremony honoring the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Scholar Mentoring and Postdoctoral Scholar Award as well as the PDA sponsored Research Symposium Awards.

Keynote speech will also be delivered by Prof. Rob Knight.

• 12:05: Welcome by Vice Chancellor for Research Sandra Brown; Opening remarks by Interim Executive Vice Chancellor Peter Cowhey
  
• 12:15: Keynote Speaker Prof. Rob Knight, Department of Pediatrics; co-founder of the American Gut Project
  
• 1:00: Presentation of Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Postdoctoral Mentoring, Chancellor's Postdoctoral Scholar Award by Faculty Director for Postdoctoral Scholar Education and Training, Prof. Mark Lawson
• 1:30: Presentation of PDA Research Awards by Dalila El Quarrat, lead organizer of the Postdoc Research Symposium
  
• 2:00: Conclusion

This event is only open to UC San Diego Postdoctoral Scholars.
